Hamilton at Beverly

Beverly (2-0) beat Hamilton
(0-2) by the score of 9 to 8 at Cooney Field Wednesday. Hamilton
took a 3-0 first inning lead behind Jim Maloney's two run single.
Beverly got a home run from Derek Scialdone and a key two run single by
Kevin Harutunian to take the lead, 8 to 7, in the bottom of the
6th. In the 7th, Hamilton scratched for a run on a Reggie
Maidment single to tie it. But, in the bottom half of the 7th, a
hit and run single by Matt O'Brien was followed by a deep single over
the left fielder's head by Dan Elario for a walk-off victory for the
Giants. Judd Funchion for the Generals, and Kyle Sewyck for the
Giants each pitched strong middle relief.
